- Strong correlation physics in transition metal oxides, including metal-insulator transition, orbital correlations, and spin-orbit coupling effects
- Growth of functional oxide interfaces using PLD and laser MBE, and their characterizations
- Electronic structure studies using angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) and infrared/optical spectroscopies
- Physics and applications of ferroelectric thin films: domain dynamics, critical thickness limits, switching dynamics, and fundamental mechanisms of reliable FeRAM
- Physics and applications of resistance switching phenomena in oxides: fundamental mechanism, collective phenomena, and RRAM applications
